Dr Rene Bastian is a Senior Agricultural Advisor and is actively involved in pre-emptively identifying problems within the implementation of CASP funded projects within the Overberg district. The CASP process, includes receiving, submitting, presenting the application and planning for implementation, specifications for buying the correct implements during procurement for implementation and implementation itself. During this process, it is critical that potential service delivery problems are pro-actively identified and solved to ensure on time and on standard implementation. Should spreading of fertiliser and treatment with chemicals for disease not be done as needed, it results in low yield and consequently low or non-profit.
