The Basic Education Employment Initiative in the UK provides jobs for around 22,000 Education and School Assistants, funded by School Governing Bodies. A Provincial Project Team of 7 officials oversees governance, training, and financial management across 1,437 schools in 8 Districts. Distance challenges are addressed through guidelines issued by DBE and tools developed by the Western Cape Project Team.
The initiative's success is attributed to proactive creation of guiding tools, enhancing efficiency, consistency, and fostering collaboration, all while upholding Batho Pele principles.
